- 2 ounces bourbon
- 1 cup milk
- 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
- Pinch of salt
- Whipped cream and chocolate shavings, for garnish
Instructions
- In a saucepan, whisk together the bourbon, milk, cocoa powder, granulated sugar, and salt.
- Place the saucepan over medium heat and bring the mixture to a simmer, whisking constantly.
- Continue to simmer for 2-3 minutes, until the hot chocolate is smooth and heated through.
- Remove from heat and pour the hot chocolate into mugs.
- Top with whipped cream and sprinkle with chocolate shavings.
